Many manufacturers struggle with what regulatory information to put on the label, manual and packaging. Looking at the FCC, ISED, MIC and CE, we can give you the following information that needs to be there.
FCC (For US market)
Label:
- FCC ID –> min size 4pt.
- FCC logo (not needed, optional ): size –> as long as its visible.
- FCC ID also possible to be electronical shown in device.
- Label location on device needs to be shown.
Manual:
- (optional ) FCC ID can be in the manual if the product is extraordinary small that FCC ID won’t fit on the product label itself.
- FCC Interference statement (Part 15.19)(a)(3) and Compliance Statement (Part 15.105b).
- If the device needs to be at 20 cm distance of use , then mention that in RF exposure statement, if SAR is applicable mention the max Sar values.
Packaging:
- FCC doesn’t care about the packaging info to be uploaded.
ISED (For Canada market)
Label:
- ISED ID need to be shown as –> IC: XXXXX-YYYYYYY
- HVIN: Hardware Version Identification Number –> Model#, M/N:, P/N:, size min 4pt).
- Can be shown electronically.
Manual:
- If product is extra ordinary small, its ok to put labeling info on manual.
- ISED statement in English and in French.
- If the device needs to be at 20 cm distance of use , then mention that in RF exposure statement, if SAR is applicable mention the max Sar values.
Packaging:
- ISED doesn’t need packaging info to be uploaded.
CE marking (For EU market)
Label:
- CE logo needs to be on the product labeling (must not be smaller than 5 mm).
- Trademark and model name/ number needs to be stated.
- Manufacturer full address (or on packaging /manual if no place on device).
Manual:
- RED statement needs to be there mentioning the Radio Equipment Directive.
- Full DOC needs to be attached to manual or mention the short DOC text that informs client where at which internet address to find full DOC.
- Mention the operating frequency bands and their max output power.
- For indoor use of the device in the 5 GHz band, mention this in the manual.
- When there are restrictions you should mention the short country codes for the countries that have restrictions and place pictograms.
Packaging:
- CE logo needs to be on the product labeling (must not be smaller than 5 mm).
- Trademark and model name/ number needs to be stated.
- If there are restrictions you should mention the short country codes for the countries that have restrictions and place pictograms.
- Manufacturer full address (if not possible in manual).
MIC (For Japan market)
Label:
- Giteki mark (size: as long as its visible
- Add to it [R] for Radio or [T] for Terminal equipment
- If device is too small, place the mark in the manual.
- Next to the Giteki mark ( group together ), you must mention the certification number that you will get from the certification body when booking your project.
- For indoor use only device in the 5.2/5.3 GHz band, mention : 電波法により 5.2/5.3 GHz 帯は屋内使用に限ります
- Electronic labeling is allowed.
Manual:
- If device is too small, place the Giteki mark in the manual.
Packaging:
- Not needed for your application to Japan.
