Yes, an importer or EU responsible person address is mandatory for consumer products imported from outside the EU. Under the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), non-EU manufacturers must ensure their products display the name, physical postal address, and electronic contact details of an EU-based economic operator (such as an importer or authorized representative).

Core Requirements

• Physical Postal Address: A street address or PO box, postal code, and city located within the EU must be physically printed on the product or its packaging.
• Manufacturer Info Still Needed: The non-EU manufacturer’s own name and address must also remain on the product or packaging alongside the importer details.
• No Digital Replacements: Websites or email addresses alone cannot replace the requirement for a physical postal address on the label, though they can be provided additionally.
