Is the manufacturer address mandatory?
The manufacturer postal address is mandatory for consumer products sold in the European Union under the GPSR, alongside the manufacturer’s name and electronic contact details. If the manufacturer is located outside the EU, you must also include the details of an EU Responsible Person or Importer on the product or packaging.
Physical Label Requirements
- Manufacturer name: Full legal name or registered trademark.
- Postal address: A physical location where the manufacturer can be reached.
- Electronic contact: An email address or website.
- Product identifier: A type, batch, serial, or model number for tracking.
Non-EU Manufacturer Rules
- Responsible Person: Must appoint an EU-based contact or economic operator.
- Label addition: The name and postal address of this EU Responsible Person must also be printed on the product or packaging.
