Questions & Answers
Who signs the Declaration of Conformity?
A Declaration of Conformity (DoC) must be signed by the manufacturer or an authorized representative acting on their behalf. The signatory must have legal authority to bind the manufacturer, control of the technical compliance file, and take full legal responsibility that the product meets all applicable safety and regulatory standards.
For localized regulatory requirements (such as CE marking in the European Union):
- EU-based manufacturers: The manufacturer signs the document.
- Non-EU manufacturers: You cannot simply sign the document yourself; you must formally appoint an authorized representative who is established within the European Union to sign the DoC on your behalf
